Annelies Macintosh

Annelies Macintosh is an artist and retired architect based in Cambridge. With Dutch and Australian heritage and a wealth of international experience, she draws inspiration from a wide range of cultural and environmental contexts.

Working primarily in oil and soft pastel, she blends realism with expressive freedom, guided by artistic traditions spanning from Vermeer to Euan Uglow and twentieth-century British observational painters. Her portfolio includes portraits, animal studies, and scenes from daily life, all distinguished by a balance of precision and spontaneity, as well as a keen sensitivity to colour and light.
