Angela Cookney

I have painted in oils, watercolours and acrylics for many years. More recently I have worked mostly in acrylics, introducing hand painted collage and printing into some of my work.

I am fascinated by colour, bold shapes, line and pattern. I experiment with these to produce interesting still life and interiors art works.

Inspired by my home surroundings, most of my recent still life work is a blend of realism and stylisation which comes from my imagination.

I love exhibiting my art work. .Since being selected by the Cambridge Drawing Society, I have exhibited with them twice a year in central Cambridge. I have also exhibited regularly at my local gallery, Babylon Arts and other local exhibitions.

I have taken part in Cambridge Open Studios and was Outstanding Artist winner at the most recent Cambridge Open Arts Exhibition in 2023.

I was invited by Haddenham Arts Centre to exhibit a collection of my work to fill their gallery space in May and June 2025. Since May 2025 my work has been exhibited at the Chequer House Gallery.

My work has been purchased by collectors both in the UK and abroad.
