Charlotte Bedingfeld

Charlotte Bedingfeld has been based in Cambridge since 2018.  She is a largely self taught artist having studied languages at university.  She came back to practicing art in 2014 and uses oils in her works of buildings and still life and graphite and coloured pencil in her portraits.

Charlotte creates art as a way of reconnecting with beauty. For her, the act of painting and drawing is deeply visceral—an experience that has sharpened her perception and deepened her appreciation of the world around her.

Her weekly life drawing underpins her practice by reinforcing observational accuracy, proportion and gesture. It’s her way of reconnecting with the essentials of mark-making and visual study.
