Helen Clarke

I aim  to create paintings which lift the spirit and enhance life and the wonderful flowing quality of watercolour is the ideal medium to achieve this.

Working from my Summer House Studio in Great Wilbraham, I overlook an inspiring wild flower meadow with adjoining fields. My subject is the natural world, whether it is flowers, landscape, still life or recently, wildlife, freely capturing the essence of their natural beauty with the spontaneity of watercolour and sometimes incorporating the intensity of acrylic inks or collage.

Designing original watercolour greetings cards is a speciality and many are sold locally and internationally.

I have participated in Cambridge Open Studios since 2001 and have exhibited in The Dolby Gallery  in  Oundle, with Cambridge Contemporary Art. I am currently showing at EJaRt Creative Studio and Gallery in Fore Street Framlingham.  As a member of Cambridge Drawing Society, I take part in various group exhibitions

Small workshops are taught in my Summer House Studio to both children and adults. I am a Tutor at Tindalls Art Shop in Cambridge and also at EJR Art Creative in Hasketon, Suffolk.
