Helen Clarke
My aim is to create paintings which lift the spirit and enhance peoples’ lives, and I feel that the wonderful flowing colours of watercolour is the ideal medium to achieve this.
My favourite subjects are flowers, landscape and still life, freely capturing the essence of their natural beauty with the spontaneity of watercolour and sometimes incorporating the intensity of acrylic inks.
Designing original greetings cards is a speciality and many are sold locally, as well as internationally.
I have participated in Cambridge Open Studios every year since 2001 and have exhibited in The Dolby Gallery in Oundle, with Cambridge Contemporary Art and am currently showing at the Saffron Walden Gallery and EJR Art Creative in Hasketon near Woodbridge. As a member of the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists, Cambridge Drawing Society and Cambridge District Art Circle, I take part in various group exhibitions
Small workshops are taught in my Summer House Studio to both children and adults and I also lead sessions for local art groups. I am a tutor for Tindalls Art Shops, leading regular workshops in Cambridge and Newmarket and also at EJR Art Creative in Hasketon, Suffolk.
