Pamela Barrell

After spending my childhood drawing ‘fashions’ I did not do anything involved with art until founding my own gallery where I sold artworks by East Anglian artists, eventually adding an additional outlet in the Islington Design Centre, London. Twenty-two years later, with the family having grown up, I retired and completed a couple of courses with the Open College of Arts and attended frequent workshops by my favourite artists.  I then finally began to paint myself, at first working in pastels, and later watercolour. Now I primarily work in watercolour, but sometimes combine both mediums, and often add ink.  I have been a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society for many years, and also belong to other art groups further afield in East Anglia.
