Diane Firth

I love the challenge of representing another person. Everyone is individual and trying to capture a unique character and appearance is inspiring and always fascinating. I largely work in charcoal or oil paint because of their flexibility for portraits although I also use pencil and watercolour. The size of my work varies from tiny miniatures to large paintings over life size and everything in between. I studied Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and then for an MA at Chichester University, both with representations of people as the key subject.

I especially enjoy commissions and meeting new subjects.
