CDS members Vandy Massey & Liz Hartley currently have a joint exhibition of their work on the Cafe Gallery Wall at Stapleford Granary (open every day except Wednesday)

Liz Hartley’s linocuts speak quietly yet with great depth; layer upon layer of translucent ink build images that hold the stillness of wide skies, the shimmer of water, and the presence of watchful trees. Her work carries the spirit of the places she knows well: the distinct landscapes of North Essex, the watery reaches of the Fens, and the wild edge of Scotland’s west coast.

Vandy Massey’s paintings breathe movement and colour into the natural world. In watercolour, acrylic, and mixed media, she embraces the flow of pigment, letting chance and intention meet on the page. Her work is alive with the warmth and vibrancy of her South African roots, yet grounded in the landscapes she now calls home.

The exhibition continues until 7 October. Further information can be found here.
