Cambridge Arts Festival 2026
Once again, Cambridge Drawing Society has been invited to help launch the Cambridge Arts Festival and the event is already sold out.
From 9-18 February 2026 the city will come alive with creativity, colour and culture! Expect exhibitions, public art, guided tours, workshops, late-night gallery openings and family-friendly activities.
As part of the opening celebrations, CDS will be hosting a special SketchTogether at Cafe au Chocolat, inviting members of the public to sketch alongside us. With thanks to Cambridge Bid, we will be treated to a complimentary drink at Cafe au Chocolat while we draw, either inside the cafe or outside on picturesque Green Street.
– Also, as part of the Festival, CDS Member Melissa Lhoirit is one of three artists selected to create a drawing for the new King Street Mural. It will be painted by Graffwerk during the Festival so people can pass by and watch the artwork come to life.

– Melissa will also have a stall at the Art Makers Fair, a new Event at the Festival. This will be at the Guildhall on Saturday 14 February, 11am–4pm.

– Meanwhile, CDS member Sho-Jen Dowell will lead relaxed, drop-in sessions on traditional brush painting to celebrate the Chinese New Year at Lion Yard Shopping Centre, on Monday 16 February (10am–2pm) and Tuesday 17 February (12pm–4pm).
